Public Administration is one of the most popular optional subjects for the Civil services. Due to its short syllabus and overlap with other general studies papers. Paper 1 includes Origin and Development of the Subject , Administrative Theories, Organisational Behaviour, Accountability and Control, Administrative Law, Comparative Public Administration. Paper 2 Consists Evolution of Indian Administration, Constitutional setting, political executive at the union level, Central-State Relations, Public Services, State and District Administration. While Paper I is majorly conceptual and static, Paper 2 requires greater attention to contemporary events with greater emphasis on updated information along with conceptual clarity. With the changing trends of the optional paper, it is important that each section of paper 1 and paper 2 is covered comprehensively.
